Here is a complete and pratical information guide that will allow you to evaluate the potential risks involved in the treatment of the garment that your customer confides in you. It contains information about fabrics, colors, stains, and trimmings. Place it in an easy to reach area, it will surely help you give quality service in a flash.

IMPORTANT GUIDELINES FOR INSPECTION

  • If the garment does not have the manufacturer's label, inform your customer that he or she assumes all risks that our process represents.
  • Examine the general state of the garment, its wear.
  • The dye does not repair a garment and does not correct its wear. Identify all stains (refer to stain section).
  • Identify any anomalies, tears, garment or lining snags.
  • Check if all trimmings are present and in good condition (buttons, zippers, press studs, ornaments etc.).
  • Check for the presence of leather or other decorative pieces that will have to unsew.
  • Show all defects to your customer and if the garment is subject to risk,make him sign a release form.

SUEDART will not accept responsibility regarding any complaints if your customer has not been well informed of potential risks.

FABRICS... ...

that can be dyed :

  • Cotton (denim)
  • Polyester
  • Ramie / cotton
  • Linen / cotton
  • Nylon / polyester
  • Nylon
  • Polyester / rayon *
  • Rayon *
  • Polyester / viscose *

According to the item after examination. ... that cannot be dyed :

  • Wool Acrylic (if more than 10%)
  • Acetate

LININGS...

  • Made of nylon, cotton and polyester do not represent any real risks.
  • Made of acetate, can come out crumpled and can be deteriorated.
  • Made of viscose, can possibly shrink.

    Inner linings : refer to the warning on pick up slip.

    NOTE : If the lining is torn or damaged, it is necessary to repair it before dyeing it. Additional costs mabe anticiped according to the evaluation.

TRIMMINGS...

Some trimmings and decorative elements have to be removed. No additionnal costs will be charged.

However, we will not put them back on unless requested by customer. In this case, additional costs will be charged.

STAINS...

Clearly indicate the presence of paint or grease stains.

In most cases, we will be able to make them disappear.

It is also possible to make ink and bleach stains disappear.

We are able to make a good evaluation. For a better success rate, advise your customer to choose a darker color.

Ink and bleach stains disappear well according to color :

  • Black : 96%
  • Green : 82%
  • Navy blue: 60%
  • Plum : 58%
  • Violet : 33%

Hot iron marks on synthetic fabric are difficult to eliminate.

There is a risk that the garment will stay marked. Please warn the customer.

COLORS...

In general...

It is easier to dye if the requested color is darker than the garment's original color.

In some case (except for nylon and polyester) we can dye a garment with a color lighter than the original one. Suedart will make an evaluation

Warning...

For nylon and polyester, the original color can have an effect on the dye, making it vary from the requested color.

Ex. : Red jacket (original color), navy blue (requested color) can render a slightly purple shade.

If the original color is made of several color tones, color shades can also appear on the dyed garment.
